Routes to Richmond.
By train and bus. Nearest rail station is Darlington on the East coast main line. 2 ½ hours from London, 2 hours from Manchester, 2 hours from Edinburgh. Alight at Darlington and leave the station at the rear (west) exit through the passage under the lines. Ariva bus 28X leaves for Richmond from the stop across the road outside Hogans pub. Journey time 30 minutes.
By road.
From the north leave the A1 at Scotch Corner. Follow the A6108 directly to Richmond. Approaching the town centre turn left into Dundas street at the roundabout with the library on your left and the Coop on the right. After 200 yards follow the road round to the right and drive straight on up to the market square.
From the south leave the A1 at Catterick village turning right over the A1 and then left on the A6136 through the village, past the racecourse to Catterick bridge. Turn right over the bridge and then left to Brompton on Swale. Drive through the village and along the B6271 to Richmond. Take a left at the junction with the A6108 and straight through the traffic lights. Approaching the town centre turn left into Dundas street at the roundabout with the library on your left and the Coop on the right. After 200 yards follow the road round to the right and drive straight on up to the market square.
